Frequently Asked Questions
What to bring?
It's encouraged to bring food and drink. The boat is equipped with an icebox to keep beverages cool in the cockpit area, as well as a fridge in the saloon. Avod drinking out of glass bottles, and please use the compostable or reusable cups on board (or bring your own). NO RED WINE is allowed on the boat.
For food, plan with your group what you would like to do. For half day charters, we recommend just bringing snacks and planning to eat before and/or after your charter. Jack London Square has several great food options with outdoor seating overlooking the marina and estuary. For full day charters, we recommend brining something that is easy to eat while on the move, ie something handheld, such as sandwiches or burritos. If planning to go to angel island, while they do have a well recognized cafe, we suggest bring a backup meal in case plans change or the docks are full.
What to wear?
Sailing on the Bay can range from hot and sunny, to windy and chilly, often in the span of minutes (especially during the Summer). We recommend always bringing multiple layers to accommodate weather fluctuations, even on hot days as the wind can make a big difference. Bringing jackets, a wind shell, pullover sweater, beanies, etc, are all lightweight items that can help accommodate fluctuations in temperatures. Please check the weather ahead of time, as some days will be colder than others. Contact Sundeep or your captain the day if you need help in this area as your booking approaches.
Please wear non-marking shoes.
What should i expect in regards to being on a sailboat?
Monohull sailboats “heel” over when sailing, so it is common to be at 30 degree angles to the ground. Depending on conditions that day, the waves can create chop and some sporadic splashes are possible. However, as we specialize in customer experience, your captain can make the voyage easier by adjusting your route (and angle to the wind) if conditions become uncomfortable.
If you start feeling sick, please let your captain know. It is more common to be sick when dehydrated, tired, or cold, so avoid drinking too much and make sure to have those layers available. It is recommended to avoid spending too much time down below while underway, as not being able to see land or the horizon will hasten feelings of seasickness if one is prone to it.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately not.
Where can i find the waiver?
Please esign the waiver here before your charter date.
